Ben Scott
Chairman of the Board
Ben has more than 30 years of experience in the telecommunications industry and has helped several companies launch successful wireless products. As Chief Executive Officer of IXC Communications, Scott oversaw the transformation of the company into an international broadband- and IP services-based carrier, which culminated in a merger with Cincinnati Bell into Broadwing, almost tripling shareholder value. As Chief Executive Officer at PrimeCo, Scott managed the largest wireless business launch in history and at Bell Atlantic International Wireless as Chief Operating Officer, he supervised the launch of Omnitel, the fastest growing wireless company in Italy. Scott began his career at AT&T, where he climbed the ranks to become President and Chief Executive Officer of the company's Canadian offices. He has also held the Chief Operating Officer position at Bell Atlantic's U.S. wireless business, now part of Verizon Wireless. Scott currently serves on the Board of Directors for Active Power, Navini Networks, Netrake and Spatial Wireless and is a venture partner with Austin Ventures. He has extensive management experience in the United States and abroad. Scott earned his bachelor's degree at Virginia Polytechnic Institute.
