Swisscom Mobile selects 724 Solutions' Seamless Access Solution to Offer MMS Services and Internet Browsing

Swisscom Mobile invests in a flexible architecture that enables a more simplified, lower cost of ownership network

Santa Barbara, CA and Barcelona, Spain (February 12, 2007) - 724 Solutions, a leading provider of next-generation IP-based network and data services, today announced that Swisscom Mobile has selected 724's Seamless Access Solution to enable its wireless data service offerings which includes both MMS and Internet access. Swisscom Mobile selected 724's Seamless Access Solution because of its extensible platform and lowest cost of ownership, enabling premium content services today and in the future. Swisscom Mobile is Switzerland's leading telecoms company.

724's Seamless Access Solution is an open and secure, massively scalable, fault-tolerant wireless traffic access gateway. Swisscom Mobile is using it to support its House of Sports MMS campaign, a multi-service promotion providing both summaries and highlights of soccer and ice hockey via real-time MMS messages. Subscribers can sign up for a variety of message options: goals, penalties, red cards and summary highlights that accompany photos and videos. Additionally, Seamless Access Solution will enable Swisscom Mobile's Internet access with surfing options both on and off their portal.

"As competition enters the mobile marketplace from fixed mobile convergence, mobile operators need to simplify their data infrastructure, lower their cost of ownership and deploy flexible solutions to offer blended services," said John Sims, Chief Executive Officer of 724 Solutions, "724's Seamless Access Solution gives Swisscom Mobile the ideal platform to innovate and bring revenue generating premium services to market."

"Our requirements for high availability and throughput were crucial to the success of this project and we are very pleased with the reliability and performance of 724's Seamless Access Solution," said Wolfgang Weber, Chief Technology Officer of Swisscom Mobile. "We believe the lower cost of ownership realized with this platform and its extensibility for new services, will allow us to continue leading the Swiss market with innovative new services."
