724 Solutions and Swisscom Mobile Announce Successful FIFA World Cup 2006 MMS Campaign

Swisscom Mobile deems first of its kind mobile services campaign a success

Santa Barbara, CA (August 7, 2006) - 724 Solutions Inc. (TSX: SVN; Pink Sheets: SVNX), a leading provider of next-generation IP-based network and data services, today announced the success of the Swisscom Mobile FIFA World Cup 2006 mobile service campaign: a multi-service promotion providing both summaries and highlights of World Cup matches or individual team results. The service, powered by 724's X-treme MMS Accelerator (XMA), offered a variety of subscription-based content, available in three languages including German, French, and Italian. Swisscom Mobile, a member of the Vodafone Club of Operators and the leading mobile communications provider in Switzerland, owned the exclusive rights to offer FIFA World Cup content as Switzerland's official mobile video broadcaster.

"Our customers were satisfied with the timely delivery of their messages, especially their goal alarms," said Stefan Kohler, Head of Messaging Domain at Swisscom Mobile. "Also, our customers were pleased with the option to automatically receive pictures or short video clips as part of their subscription. We had very strict requirements for message quality, timely delivery and message volume, and 724's X-treme MMS Accelerator seamlessly enabled the Vodafone live! campaign which covered 64 World Cup matches featuring goals, penalties, red cards and daily updates."

"724's XMA is purposely designed to enable this kind of high capacity, time-sensitive bulk message service and we are thrilled to see another successful campaign especially one associated with one of the world's most exciting and competitive sporting events," says John Sims, Chief Executive Officer at 724 Solutions.

724's XMA is a high performance application to person (A2P) bulk messaging solution, designed to deliver time sensitive multimedia content to large numbers of users in a very short period of time. Based on 724's X-treme Framework, XMA features a unique modular architecture that facilitates scalability, fault tolerance, extensibility and ease of integration.
