Manager, IT Services - Santa Barbara, CA
Manager, IT Services is responsible for IT operations, infrastructure, business community issues, network services, evaluation, testing and integration of existing and new technologies. Other areas of responsibility include production control, incident and problem management, capacity planning, IT support and security in order to ensure optimum system integrity, availability and reliability.
This individual should have strong operational knowledgeable in both UNIX and Windows environments, and exhibit a superior understanding of networks and security. Strong verbal and written skills are essential; this individual must be able to clearly communicate to a diverse audience including executives.
Responsibilities:
- Development and formulation of infrastructure, security and network strategies and roadmap
- Customer, partner, and vendor management
- Responsible for Microsoft Exchange server mail environment
- Accountable for DRP/BCP initiatives
- Accountable for the management of problem and incident management and resolution
- Direct and manage the people and processes in the day to day infrastructure operations
- Management of escalation processes to ensure efficient, timely, high quality support is provided in response to system issues
- Management of all areas related to tracking, reporting and follow up of ongoing problems within the IT environment
- Management of 724 Solutions’ Data Centers
- Project planning and co-ordination for infrastructure projects
- Development, management and maintenance of the backup architecture and strategyv
- Continuously seeking methods of improving service levels
- Provide efficient, high quality technical support services to ensure timely response to queries, resolution of problems, and reporting/escalation of issues related to the systems
- Ensure the physical and logical stability, reliability, confidentiality and integrity of 724 Solutions systems in accordance with 724 Solutions policies, procedures and guidelines, taking appropriate actions for all violations
- Analyze problems arising from daily operations to continuously improve service levels
- Provide recommendations on hiring and promotion of technical staff
- Provide leadership, mentorship, guidance, problem solving, and technical support to matters related to 724 Solutions IT Production Services
- Provide recommendations on expenditures within approved budget

- Sound understanding of general business conditions and practices and 724 Solutions strategic direction to be able to effectively relate technology to business opportunities
- Flexibility with respect to hours and travel
Qualifications:
- Minimum 8 years experience hands-on technical support experience with 3 recent years in a management position
- Responsibility for network and security architecture in a management position for at least 3 years
- Proven project management abilities, with a minimum of 3 years leading and managing projects
- Expert knowledge LAN, WAN, CISCO communications, Microsoft Active Directory, telecommunications environments, Linux, Solaris and security devices & practices
- Daily business user community support and interaction experience a must
- Undergraduate and/or graduate degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems
Work Conditions:
- Normal office environment
- Required to be available outside normal business hours
- Required to carry cell phone, and pager – rotating “on call” to handle 24 x 7 management escalations for support issues
- Occasional travel may be required
